Beatriz Ferreira Punishes Licia Boudersa To Retain IBF Title
Making the first defense of the IBF women’s lightweight title, Beatriz “The Beast” Ferreira (6-0, 2 KOs) had her way with Licia Boudersa (23-3-2, 4 KOs), cruising to a unanimous decision (100-90, 100-90, 100-90) victory at Salle des Etoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The Beast was in control from start to finish, using her physical strength and power to bully Boudersa. After three rounds, the challenger was breathing heavily and had all kinds of problems dealing with the aggression from the champion.
Ferreira let the combinations flow in the middle rounds, pounding Boudersa with shots to the head and body. It would have been nice if Boudersa offered more resistance. However, it was clear that she was overwhelmed and in survival mode.
The IBF belt-holder has the potential to dominate the lightweight division. After her win, her promoter, Eddie Hearn, stated he would like to make a unification fight between Ferreira and WBO champion Terri Harper in 2025.
