Jose Benavidez suffers leg injury!
Welterweight contender Jose Benavidez (27-1, 18KOs) has suffered an injury to the same leg he suffered a gunshot wound to in 2016. This will take him out of a scheduled August 17 bout with contender Luis Collazo (39-7, 20KOs).
Collazo will now seek an new opponent on the date as he intends to move forward with his return.
As for now, there are no details about the exact nature of the injury. However, we were told Benavidez will need approximately sixty days to recover.
