Naoya Inoue vs Nonito Donaire WBSS finals targeting a November date!

On July 17, 3KingsBoxing reported WBA “Super” Bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire has began training camp for WBSS Bantamweight Tournament finals against WBA Noaya Inoue. During that time it wasn’t known when and where the Finals of the 118-pound tournament would take place.

We at 3Kings have been keeping close tabs on the story and now have an update on the situation! While no specific date has been announced nor has a location been finalized, we can confirm the bout will take place in November!

The news was disclosed earlier today during an event for the Ohashi Gym Supporters Association in Yokohama, Japan to celebrate their one-year anniversary.

Inoue, who was in attendance and spoke during the event pledged he will be the winner of the WBSS Bantamweight finals. Hideyuki Ohashi, head of the Ohashi gym said Inoue’s preparations for the fight will start in August.

Ohashi said further details regarding the finals are coming very soon. However, given the November date was announced at the Ohashi Gym event, it’s highly anticipated the bout will eventually land in Japan.

WBC Champion Nordine Oubaali to Fight on the Under-card

Also divulged was WBC champion Nordine Oubaali will fight on the under-card. Ouubali, who recently scored a seventh round stoppage over Arthur Villanueva on July 6, will face interim champion Takuma Inoue. For those who don’t know, Takuma is the younger brother of one Naoya.

Oubaali has expressed he wants to unify the bantamweight division and is very interested in fighting the older Inoue. Looks like he may get his opportunity if he can get passed the younger brother first.

For Takuma, a win here would mean the Inoue brothers would hold three of the four world title belts in the division.

Stay tuned to 3KingsBoxing on this developing story.
