Bill Haney Thinks Floyd Mayweather Wants Garcia To Beat Devin
WBC junior welterweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (31-0, 15KO) and arch-rival “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20) will finally clash. However, trainer Bill Haney believes that Hall of Fame Inductee Floyd “Money” Mayweather wants The Dream to lose against Garcia.
After a rollercoaster of changes, Haney versus Garcia is finally inked on paper to take place to the delight of the boxing community on April 20. There is no love between the two fighters, as they have engaged in a heated war of words.
King Ry is promising to have a surprise for the WBC champion at their upcoming press conference. However, the elder Haney was already aware of Mayweather’s involvement in giving Garcia instructions on what to do on fight night.
REVEALING THE SECRET WEAPON
While speaking with FightHype, the elder Haney believes that Mayweather is colluding with the enemy in an attempt to defeat his son.
“Right now, he’s with Ryan, and that ain’t no lying. And guess what, it ain’t going to help. So y’all can come out the closet with all that secret shit that y’all doing and just tell the truth. You’ve been meeting, you’re going to continue to meet, and you want Devin to go down. But that ain’t happening.”
Bill Haney
Haney is right to feel some kind of way, provided Mayweather shows up to support King Ry. It’s no secret that his son, the WBC champion, has trained with the Hall of Fame Inductee going back to his amateur days.
During the 2020 pandemic, The Dream used the time away from the ring to strengthen the bond with Mayweather. This author agrees with the elder Haney in that from a fighting style point of view, training with Money Mayweather won’t help Garcia.
