Bill Haney Ready to Extract Retribution from Team Garcia!
When “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (25-1, 20 KO’s) was recently flagged for PED use, the news shocked the boxing world. He was fresh off his surprisingly dominant win over long-time rival WBC junior welterweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (31-1, 15 KO’s). Naturally, this story sent shockwaves through the fight world and prompted his B-samples being tested. Now, that Garcia’s B-sample has proven to be dirty as well, The Dream’s father, manager and chief second, Bill Haney, said there will be a price to pay for this transgression.
“Cheaters don’t prosper. What you do in the dark comes to the light. And ain’t nothing funny about what the Garcia team and what Ryan Garcia done did. Expect something serious, there are ramifications in this. Repercussions and ramifications. You don’t violate no Haney and expect [nothing to happen], yeah.”
SMOKING GUN
During the pre-fight hype to build the prizefight, Garcia went on a strange and extended tangent about his self-imposed ‘mission to save the children.’ While a noble sentiment, King Ry never realistically did anything to express or illustrate in any tangible way how he was helping any kid anywhere.
On the contrary, Team Haney openly criticized Garcia for his gloating about smoking, drinking, vulgarity and being sexually loose in the streets. In this regard, Devin Haney explained to the media that he felt King Ry was a sham role model who stood to essentially glorify the road to destruction. When speaking on the same live broadcast, Bill Haney expressed his own disappointment in Garcia’s slanderous influence on the kids.
“You see what the kids are saying?! So what are the kids supposed to think? Its okay to just use PED’s? Come on man, let’s do better with this sport.”
THE WALK OF SHAME
With all the reckless hijinks that Ryan Garcia has subscribed to over the past several months, it will be interesting to see what the legal and formal outcome of this conundrum is. Not only is it all but guaranteed that Team Haney will look to have the loss overturned, King Ry’s slick and lawless mouth have left him wide open for a series of slander and defamation lawsuits. Therefore, this is shaping up to be one long and hot summer for Ryan Garcia!
