Dmitry Bivol will move down if no unification can be made

Undefeated WBA Super light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol (15-0, 11 KOs) expresses frustration after the Jean Pascal victory.

Bivol (27), is very eager to get a big fight and wants any unification match-up. These two things have eluded the champion thus far.

A unification bout was in the works against then WBO champion Sergy Kovalev. That is, until a shocking defeat at the hands of Eleider Alvarez derailed those plans.

The young champion has hinted to moving down to super-middleweight for the possibility of a big fight. Many pundits have often professed that he’s a small light-heavyweight, so making the super-middleweight limit isn’t a difficult hurdle.

When asked about fighting Canelo Alvarez, assuming the Mexican star wins and stays at super-middleweight, Bivol replied:

“Of course I want to fight him also.”

It’s also worth noting team Bivol has stated they’re willing to fight Marcus Browne, Badou Jack and WBA super middleweight champion Callum Smith.

Whatever the next move will be, the time is now and the champion is ready for bigger challenges!
