Blair Cobbs Attacks Danny Garcia For Lack Of Mental Fortitude
Welterweight Blair “The Flair” Cobbs (17-1-1, 10KO) took to social media with harsh words for two-division champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (37-4, 21KO). Swift is under extremely harsh criticism for his abysmal performance for the WBA middleweight crown on September 14.
Boxing fans are still talking about how bad Swift looked against the older and less mobile version of WBA champion Erislandy Lara. Garcia labored around the ring following the Cuban and offered no offensive response.
The Flair had no problem going after Garcia for showing no heart in a live feed on social media.
“Danny Garcia turned into a coward. He became weak mentality. His mental fortitude is completely shattered, I did not like it at all…the quitting from your first knockdown, I took knockdowns that were way worse…he doesn’t have a fighting spirit.”
Cobbs has also gone after IBF champion Jaron “Boots” Ennis for having a lackluster resume. In addition, he believes that if they ever step in the ring, Ennis would get knocked out.
RETIREMENT IS A MUST
Coming off a two-year layoff, it was clear Garcia was a shell of himself. After getting knockdown from a basic jab, his father, Angel Garcia, advised the referee to stop the fight after the ninth round.
Immediately following the fight, talks of retirement quickly spread throughout social media. Outraged by his performance, fans believe the two-division champion only showed up to pick up a check.
Boxing is a sport that often time retires fighters the hard way. Garica wouldn’t commit to retiring in the post-fight interview. But that’s the direction he should be heading.
