Trainer Brian McIntyre Sees Keyshawn Davis in Title Contention by 2024!
Keyshawn “The Businessman” Davis (5-0, 4KOs) is one of the best prospects in the sport. The 135-pounder, trained by Brian “Bomac” McIntyre, has dazzled and impressed throughout his first five fights of his career. The 2020 Olympic silver medalist returns to the ring on September 23 against Omar Tienda Bahena (25-5, 18KOs).
While he’s yet to reach contender status, that doesn’t mean that he and his team aren’t already looking at the possibility of challenging for a world title. “Bomac” was asked about the likelihood of The Businessman challenging for a world title soon.
“Like I was telling the last interviewer, give him maybe a year, maybe a year and a half. Move him the right way, give him the rounds that he needs to get in, let him grow mentally, let him grow physically, let his boxing skills grow, let his team grow with him, then he’ll be ready.”
That’s a pretty bold goal for Bomac, especially considering Davis has yet to step his competition up to that next level. You also must consider he is only five fights into his career. However, the skills and confidence are there. All he needs now is the experience, which is sure to come as he continues to fight and step up his quality of competition.
One thing is for certain: the expectations are high for Davis, who feels he will become a superstar with Top Rank guiding his career.
