Arum: Ramirez vs Imam Looks To Be Headed For February
Top Rank CEO Bob Arum believes a fight between Jose Ramirez and Amir Imam will happen in February. He also told 3KingsBoxing.com he expects the fight to take place in front of Ramirez’s hometown crowd in Fresno, Ca.
Ramirez is coming off of a 2nd round stoppage this past weekend of Mike Reed. The fight headlinedSaturdaynights Top Rank on ESPN card that included Artur Beterbiev vs Enrico Koelling.
Imam is coming off of three straight early round stoppage wins after suffering his lone loss to Adrian Granados a year ago onNovember 28th. His most recent win was on the undercard of the Ramirez fightSaturdaynight in Fresno.
The fight was pretty much announced following Saturday nights card but no date or location were disclosed.
The fight is expected to be for former undisputed 140lb champion Terence Crawford’s vacant WBC title. Crawford, who won the undisputed title in August has since moved up to the 147lb division.
