Claressa Shields and Cecilia Breakhus social media beef
Inside the boxing community, Saturday nights are reserved for fights. However, with COVID-19 interrupting everyone’s plans, where do fans go for their quick fix?
It’s like that Jodeci song Feenin, boxing fans want their late-night entertainment. So once again, social media is the platform for fans to turn to and it became ablaze involving two undisputed female champions.
The Flint female champion immediately unblocked the First Lady after hearing the interview about her claims of being blocked and making it clear the DAZN offer was better. Furthermore, T-Rex didn’t stop there. She would issue an offer of a catch-weight and the undisputed welterweight champion can even have home advantage.
This is the part where you can get some popcorn, grab a seat and get comfortable! This was only the beginning.
Being unblocked, Braekhus started responding with an open dialogue and business started to pick up.
Shields has been holding on to the fact that in April 2019, after defeating former unified middleweight champion Christina “Lady” Hammer (25-1, 11ko), the First Lady responded to her call-out of wanting to fight.
However, things have changed drastically since then. Braekhus inked with Matchroom Boxing and there are two or three lucrative fights that can be made. One of them being, as mentioned previously, a mega-showdown with the winner of Katie “KT” Taylor (15-0, 6ko) against Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (38-1, 28ko).
Although T-Rex has a point, however, looking at the optics, one can understand the decision of the First Lady.
