Brandon Adams Impressively Takes Care of Tough Francisco Veron
Punching power and constant pressure were the keys for former world middleweight title challenger Brandon “Cannon” Adams (25-3, 16 KOs), who came away with a unanimous decision (95-94, 98-91, 96-93) win over Francisco Veron (14-1-1, 10 KOs) at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
The taller Veron tried to keep the fight at a distance and box in the opening couple of rounds. But at the midway mark of round three, he was hurt by a left hook from Adams. From that point on, Cannon was in complete control. After stunning Veron again in the fourth, Adams focused his attack on the body in the middle rounds. He continued to punish Veron with shots to the body and head until the final bell.
Veron showed a warrior’s heart and had a good last round. However, it was clear that Adams had done more than enough to get the victory. Next up for Adams will be a match against Andreas Katzourakis who, on the same card, scored a unanimous decision win over Robert Terry.
