Brook bypasses Khan for a showdown with Zerafa!
3kingsboxing has learned former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (37-2, 26KOs) will face the game Michael Zerafa (25-2, 14KOs).
The former IBF welterweight champion has been wanting a super-showdown with former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan. A fight we all thought would be next in 2019, however, a tough challenge awaits in Zerafa.
The top rated current WBC silver champion, will be looking to display an impressive performance in route to a showdown with his longtime adversary.
Zerafa, the current WBA Oceania champion, is in a great position to play spoiler. Since the 2015 lost to Peter Quillin, he hasn’t lost a fight while improving on his skills.
The 26 year-old Austrlian will have a height and reach advantage going in this one. In a previous interview with 3kingsboxing.com, he had his sights set on unified champion Jarret Hurd.
A victory here would position him for that as Brook is rated #2 by the WBA. Full of confidence, he is quoted as saying:
“Once I beat Brook I want Khan next!”
INTERESTING FACTS
Zerafa’s only two losses came when traveling outside of Australia. Additionally, he has never fought in the U.K.
