Callum Smith blasts out Hassan N’Dam in three!
In the first defense of his WBA super middleweight title Callum Smith came out utilizing his jab, while methodically closing the distance against Hassan N’Dam.
As round one was coming to an end, boom! A hard left hook would drop and badly hurt N’Dam who managed to make it back to his feet while still visibly hurt.
Rounds two and three didn’t bold much better for N’Dam as he was dropped in the second with another left hook. The following round saw this one-sided fight come to an end after a hard right hand put down N’Dam for a third and final time.
With his first title defense now behind him, Smith now can set his sights on a potential fight with Canelo Alvarez who moved up in weight last December to super middleweight to win the WBA regular super middleweight title over Rocky Fielding.
It remains to be seen what’s next for Alvarez but don’t be surprised if his next fight comes against Smith.
Caleb Plant, Anthony Dirrell and Billy Joe Saunders are the other champions at 168 who would all pose as intriguing unification bouts.
