Canelo Alvarez a free agent!
Boxing’s biggest star Canelo Alvarez (53-1-2, 36KOs) is now a free agent! One of boxing’s top pound-for-pound fighters will surely be a wanted man after his departure from DAZN and Golden Boy!

Back in 2018, Alvarez signed a huge 11-fight deal with DAZN for $365 million dollars. At the time, that was viewed as a major signing for the upstart streaming service. However, as time would progress, the relationship between all parties involved would start to greatly erode. It got so bad that Alvarez would file a suit against his promoter, Golden Boy, and DAZN claiming breach of contract.
The news was first broke by Salvador Rodriguez of ESPN Knockout and confirmed by the trainer and manager of Canelo Alvarez, Eddie Reynoso.
On top of becoming a free agent, there is also speculation that the Mexican star is looking to return to the ring on December 19 against IBF super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (20-0, 12KOs).
