Bruce Carrington’s Hunt For A World Title Next
Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (15-0, 9 KOs) is a top contender in the featherweight division. Ranked in the Top 5 by all four sanctioning bodies, one can strongly argue that Shu Shu is an uncrowned champion at 126 pounds. Moreover, his quest for a world title opportunity should happen this year with crosshairs over Angelo Leo, Stephen Fulton, and Rafael Espinoza.
The native of Brooklyn, New York, is fresh off a March 29 third-round stoppage win over Enrique Vivas in Las Vegas. Afterwards, Carrington said he’s targeting a fight with either WBC featherweight champion “Cool Boy” Fulton Jr or WBA title holder Nick “The Wrecking” Ball. Furthermore, his fighting style is problematic for IBF champion “El Chinito” Leo and WBO champion “El Divino” Espinoza. The only question that is left to ask is which champion will give him a title shot. Considering they both fight under the Top Rank umbrella, Carrington could end up facing Espinoza next.
