Brian Castaño vs Erislandy Lara rematch in the works!
3kingsboxing.comhas learned the rematch between WBA regular junior middleweight champion Brian Castaño and former WBA super champion Erislandy Lara is targeted for August or September.
This information comes via Castaño’s manager Sebastian Contursi. Both men feel their March 4 split draw was a very controversial end.
Castaño did very will applying pressure while finding success to the body. This caused his aging opponent to stand and fight, which is something he’s not accustomed to.
However, even the lack of normal mobility from Lara didn’t stop him from being competitive and winning his fair share of rounds.
Before a rematch can happen Castaño must receive permission from the WBA to delay the Michel Soro mandatory title defense. This fight is also a rematch as the Argentine out-pointed Soro for the interim WBA title in July 2017!
