Teofimo Lopez eyes Richard Commey for summer showdown!

Teofimo Lopez returns to the ring on April 20 as an under-card feature for Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan. However, he is already looking ahead just a little.

The unbeaten lightweight prospect will take on veteran Edis Tatli (31-2, 10KOs). A victory here would provide an opportunity for a bigger fight.

Lopez, who has also been calling for a fight with three division world champion Vasyl Lomachenko, is targeting IBF lightweight champion Richard Commey. According to Lomachenko himself, if the young prospect can win a belt, then he will agree to the match-up.

Lopez is ranked in the top five in all four major sanctioning bodies. Therefore, he should not have a problem negotiating for a bid to get a chance at the IBF title.

With that message being received, he’s hoping to get in July. If all goes well for him against Tatli, he could very well get his first title opportunity against Commey.
