Former P4P king looking to be on Alvarez/Golovkin card
According to sources close to the situation 3KingsBoxing.com has learned Roman “Chocalito” Gonzalez is pretty much set to return on May 5th in the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin. They have several opponents in mind with Iran Diaz being the front runner.
It will be Gonzalez first time in the ring since losing by knockout to Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. He’s been inactive since last September. He previously lost a decision to Rungvisai in March of last year as well.
Gonzalez hopes to get back on track as not too long ago he was at the top of the pound for pound list and was considered one of the best fighter’s in the world.
Diaz who is just 14-2 but is coming off wins over former world champions Luis Concepcion and Hernan Marquez, who are being mentioned as well, in two of his last three fights.
All in all it’s a decent return for Gonzalez.
