Chris Eubank Jr Trolls Conor Benn on Being Caught Cheating
Top middleweight contender Chris “Next Gen” Eubank Jr (32-2, 23KO) is currently preparing for his upcoming fight with Liam Smith. Still, he took time out of preparing for his upcoming fight to troll top welterweight contender Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (21-0, 14KO).
THE BACKSTORY
In early 2022, it was announced that the Eubank Sr versus Benn family rivalry would continue with their sons. In the build-up to the fight, both men provided epic sound bites that grew the interest of the boxing community.
Then the boxing gods kicked us in the gut when the fight fell into uncertainty due to Benn testing positive for a banned substance. Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn was doing everything possible to save the mega-fight Pay-Per-View event.
EUBANK SENDS A MESSAGE TO CONOR BENN
As expected, the fight was shelved after the British Boxing Board of Control withdrew its sanctioning. For months, Benn has sat on the sidelines waiting for the WBC to complete its investigation while trying to prove his innocence in the court of public opinion.
The Destroyer recently took to social media with a message for the fans. Next Gen, watching like a hawk, wasted no time reminding his rival of how he got caught.
Eubank Jr has moved on and is set to face former WBO junior middleweight champion Smith on January 21. Ranked within the top ten by three of the major sanctioning bodies, the 33-year-old will need to start pushing for a title fight, provided a win over Smith.
