Cheavon Clarke and Ginny Fuchs Win Tough Undercard Fights
Following ten rounds of mean-spirited action, Cheavon “C4” Clarke (10-0, 9 KO’s) defeated Efetobar “The Nigerian Pit Bull” Apochi (12-3, 12 KO’s) by way of majority decision.
Throughout the first half of the duel, Clarke was able to show great polish utilizing his superior speed and footwork. From the very first round, Fuchs set a blistering pace and utilized her superior foot work to give the champion numerous problems. As the match worked its way into the middle rounds Ruiz was able to make her presence known by way of her heavier hands and thudding left hook.
In the end however, Fuchs managed to win the day with her more nimble feet, in-and-out style and higher volume. When the cards were read, she prevailed by split decision to the tune of 97-93 (Ruiz), 100-90 (Fuchs), and 97-93 (Fuchs). With the win, Fuchs usurped the interim WBC super flyweight title.
