Clash Between Former World Champions Likely

Alexander and Berto both in must win situations

3KingsBoxing.com has learned that a bout between Devon Alexander & Andre Berto is likely to take place in June. An agreement has been verbally reached between the two sides and the goal is for the fight to land on the undercard of Errol Spence vs Carlos Ocampo on June 16th in Dallas.

Alexander last fought Victor Ortiz on February 17th in his second bout back since battling an opioid addiction. The fight ended in a controversial draw as most felt Alexander won. The St. Louis native has looked good since his return.

Berto has not been in the ring since being stopped by Shawn Porter in April of last year. For Berto this may well be his last opportunity as he has a 3-4 récord in his last seven fights. Can he rise to the occasion or will he go quietly into the night, we can only wonder and time will tell us.

This is a fight that would’ve been considered huge in 2012 but is now a fight in which both guys really are in must win situations. Both must make the best of every opportunity they get if either wish to get back to the pinnacle of the sport.
