Coach Bullet Cromwell Says Now Is the Time to Make Rolly Romero vs Ryan Garcia
According to chief second Gordon “Bullet” Cromwell, his charge, WBA super lightweight champion Rolando “Rolly” Romero (15-1, 13 KO’s), is looking to stage his third consecutive major prizefight. Provided that everything goes smoothly, Team Romero would love to mix it up with “King” Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KO’s) the next time they slide through the ropes. Currently, Romero is just two fights removed from his highly televised showdown with Regular WBA 135-pound champion Gervonta Davis.
Despite losing, Romero handled himself well before being stopped. The event also enjoyed great viewership and pay-per-view buys. Amazingly though, after being knocked out by Davis, Rolly, 27, was immediately rewarded with a title fight at 140. His luck seemingly remained intact, which allowed him to collect a rather bogus stoppage win over Ismael Barroso and the vacant WBA title. Now, if Romero was to pen a match with King Ryan, this would stand as another great payday for the Nevada native.
IS THIS YOUR KING?!
“That is the next move!”
Coach Bullet Cromwell speaking with Fight Hype
Certainly, there are many who think that Romero has the lesser skills and will be easy work for King Ryan. Yet, this only amuses Coach Bullet.
“The sparring sessions that we had, you know Rolly had the better of them, the sparring sessions. So, some people think, ‘okay, but that was sparring.’ Okay, we know that sparring and fighting are different. So, let’s see what happens in a real fight – Rolly Romero versus Ryan Garcia. And you know what we are going to do – we are going to stop him!”
With both fighters calling for each other’s head, it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. Luckily no matter what transpires, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news!
