Terence Crawford makes it clear he doesn’t see why an Errol Spence fight can’t be made next.
On the Terence Crawford vs Amir Khan conference call that took place on March 26, the WBO welterweight champion was plagued with questions about a potential fight with IBF champion Errol Spence.
Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum added fuel to the topic by tweeting after Crawford beats Khan, he’s not only willing to fight the powerful southpaw champion, but he’s willing to do so in his next fight.
This is music to the ears of fight fans everywhere who have been eager to see these two undefeated champions collide. However, Mr. Arum has a track-record of saying one thing and doing another.
The tone of the champion on the call indicated he prefers it to be his next fight assuming he wins April 20.
While this should produce optimism among fans and pundits of the sport, remember, it takes two sides to negotiate a deal.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope if Crawford is victorious, the unification bout will happen sooner rather than later!
