Crews-Cezurn Looks Towards Savannah Marshall As Green Order Withdrawn
The undisputed super middleweight champion, “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Franchon Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2KO), has gone from being ordered to fight mandatory challenger Shadasia “The Sweet Terminator” Green (12-0, 11KO) to possibly fighting former WBO middleweight champion Savannah “Silent Assassin” Marshall (12-1, 10KO).
3kingboxing.com reported the WBC ordered the undisputed champion to defend the titles against Green. The hard-punching mandatory challenger was more than ready for the opportunity to fight for the titles.
According to Sports Illustrated, the WBC withdrew the order, and instead they will order the winner between Crews vs Marshall to face Green afterward. The undisputed champion is said to be making her debut fight appearance in the United Kingdom in June.
Boxing fans right away thought “The Sweet Terminator” had stepped aside. She quickly took to social media to debunk that theory before it could gain some traction.
WERE CREWS AND MARSHALL ALREADY IN TALKS FOR A FIGHT?
So, what happened? Apparently, the two fighters were in negotiations to make the fight before the ruling came down from the WBC. Moreover, they could have reached some form of agreement for the WBC to withdraw the order.
The Heavy Hitting Diva added some legitimacy to the rumor with a message for Marshall.
In being honest, Crews versus Marshall, from a financial standpoint in the United Kingdom, is a smart move. The former WBO champion has a good following of fans that would come out in droves to see this fight.
The undisputed champion has not been in the ring since defeating former unified champion Elin Cederroos in April 2022. Marshall was supposed to be on track to rematch Shields in the summer, but talks about their rematch have gone silent.
