Dan Azeez Feels Joshua Buatsi Is Downplaying his Credibility
On October 21, light heavyweight fighters Joshua Buatsi (17-0, 13 KO’s) and Dan “Super” Azeez (20-0, 13 KO’s) will test their might versus one another in this WBA title eliminator. And oddly enough, despite their rankings clinging together like socks fresh out of the dryer, Azeez feels as though Buatsi is looking down his nose at him. In a recent appearance on The Gloves Are Off, Azeez voiced his opinion on the matter.
“What upsets me, not upsets me but makes me feel a way is he is ashamed to say that he wanted to fight me – like I am not credible enough. [Like] I haven’t earned my stripes. Maybe he doesn’t want the public to feel a certain type of way.”
CROSS THIS LINE THEN!
On fight night, there is little doubt that the fans will be treated to a great match. Ranked #2 (WBA), #3 (WBC), #3 (WBO) and #4 (IBF) Azeez is ready to prove his worth and defend his station on the battlefield. Meanwhile, his opponent, Buatsi, ranked #1 (WBO), #1 (WBA), #2 (WBC) and #3 (IBF), is equally ready to drive his knuckles into skull-bone to maintain his high standing. Scenarios such this often result in combustible situations.
Yet, aside from greater personal ambitions, Azeez will be aiming to beat some respect into Buatsi. Once done, provided Azeez is the victor, he will likely pursue a bout with Super WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol. While we wait for these mysteries to be revealed, stay tuned to 3Kings Boxing for all the articulate boxing talk!
