Gervonta Davis Sounds Off on Rolly Romero!
Ahead of their May 28 showdown, WBA Regular 135-pound champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (26-0, 24KOs) and Rolando “Rolly” Romero (14-0, 12KOs) kicked off the pre-fight promotion with a heated press conference. It’s no secret that both of these guys can’t stand each other. Romero has been a constant thorn in Davis’ side. It seems as if everywhere you turn, Romero is hurling extremely disrespectful insults at Davis.
Originally set to fight on December 5, the fight was scrapped after Romero was accused of sexual assault by multiple women. However, with his name now cleared of any wrongdoing, the fight is back on.
As soon as the fighters came together for the stare down, Davis went on the attack. Davis would start spitting expletives in the face of Romero, who returned fire with his own words. Fortunately for all involved in this fight, things never got physical.
In the immediate aftermath, Davis spoke with reporters, letting them know how he felt about Romero.
“He’s a bitch. That’s it. He’s a bitch. That’s what it’s all about; showing people that think they’re tough, there’s always someone out there badder than you. “
It’s clear by his actions at the press conference that Davis is coming to put a hurting on Romero, who’s talked a lot of trash about the Baltimore, Maryland native. With these two power punchers coming to do damage, it wouldn’t be a major surprise if this fight ended in a brutal knockout!
