Oscar De La Hoya Says Tank Davis vs Ryan Garcia Still has Contract Issues

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Oscar De La Hoya continues to keep the narrative alive on negotiations for WBA Regular lightweight champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (28-0, 26KO) and Ryan “King Ry” Garcia (23-0, 19KO). He’s back again, now claiming there are more contract issues to sort out on finalizing the showdown.

De La Hoya sent the boxing community up in arms after taking to social media and hinting at the fight being in jeopardy over the rematch clause. The Golden Boy CEO wants DAZN to be in charge of the broadcasting rights in the event Garcia wins.

Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza, hearing this information for the first time, called it phenomenal news. Moreover, he believes the last remaining issue shouldn’t be hard to resolve.

THERE ARE MORE THINGS THAT NEED WORKING OUT

Golden Boy seems to have more issues that need working out before the fight is a done deal. De La Hoya again has taken to social media with a post that contradicts his previous claims of the rematch clause being the only issue.

Keep in mind that De La Hoya is the one that leaked the rematch clause information and per his own words, there was only “one more point and it will be a done deal.” In addition, he is now introducing other issues that were not part of the original complaint.

Boxing fans are going through an unnecessary emotional roller coaster ride over this fight. Per the writing of this article, there has been no news of the fight being finalized.
