Caroline Dubois Beats Terri Harper To Begin Trek To Undisputed
In her latest tour of duty, WBC lightweight champion “Sweet” Caroline Dubois (13-0-1, 5 KO’s) defeated WBO 135-pound champion Terri Harper (16-3-2, 6 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. With the win, to the tune of 98-92 (twice) and 97-92, Dubois paired her WBC 135-pound title with Harper’s WBO strap.
As a unified champion, when questioned if she wanted to be undisputed, Sweet Caroline gave her affirmation:
“One hundred percent, that’s the plan! I only want big fights from here on out…I’ve got two more fights this year and I want to make them the biggest!”
So now, we will simply have to wait and see what is next for Caroline Dubois. Next for WBA lightweight champion Stephanie Han is Holly Holm, this May 30. This would leave IBF 135-pound champion Elif Nur Turhan available for combat.
The Turkish titlist just snagged a split decision win over Taylah Gentzen this past January 31. Therefore, it should be just about right for the IBF titlist to be sniffing around for her next duel. It would appear that a unification would be mutually beneficial to both. Yet, for the time being, we will just have to see what is up the sleeve of Team Dubois for their unified champion’s next move.
