Demetrius Andrade Tired of Excuses! Wants Fans To Push Their Favorite Fighters!
Two-division world champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (31-0, 19KOs) has had enough of the lack of big fights and the reasons being given for them not happening. Not long after his two-round destruction over Jason Quigley (19-2, 14KOs) to defend his WBO middleweight title for the fifth time, the Rhode Island native was yet again asked about his lack of big fights.
He told iFL TV the following about him not being able to secure marquee fights.
“Excuses after excuses and at the end of the day, I’m going to keep performing. I’m going to do what I need to do, I’m going to keep the people engaged, I’m gone keep them tuned in wanting more and more and more. I’m just going to keep on delivering.
And hopefully the fans and promotions, the fanagers out there, the fanagers out there! The motherfuckers that think they know boxing, that don’t know shit. The fanagers that want to protect their hero’s, tell your heroes to get in the ring and let’s dance. That’s it, and if they win, they win. If they lose, then you already know, move on.
You can still be their hero, it’s all good. You can still root them on, it’s all love, but the best man wins. That’s it.”
KEEP ON KEEPING ON
For Andrade, this has to be beyond frustrating at this point. The fact is that’s he’s unbeaten, a two-division world champion and has made it very clear of who it is he wants to fight. Yet all of his requests have consistently been met with non-stop resistance. He’s called out Canelo Alvarez, Jermall Charlo, Gennady Golovkin, Billy Joe Saunders and Jaime Munguia, to no avail.
In his career he’s been criticized due to his fighting style, often being labeled as a “boring” fighter. However, with his two-round destruction of Quigley, he reminded people that he can punch and get you out of there.
The sad reality is that as much as he wants these fights and the fans want to see these fights happen, it takes two to tangle. At the age of 33, he can only do what he’s been doing and that’s win impressively and continuing to apply pressure on the other champions and top fighters in the division to fight him.
