Diaz Dominates Last Minute Replacement

Pitufo Wins By KO

In the second fight on the undercard tonight of Lomachenko/Rigondeaux from The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City Christopher Diaz ( 21-0, 13 KO’s) met Bryant Cruz (18-2, 9 KO’s) in a 10 round super featherweight bout.

Diaz came out looking to set the pace putting pressure on Cruz who was knocked down by a beautiful counterpunch. Diaz looked sharp to start the bout catching Cruz while staying in the pocket.

In the second Cruz seemed to be doing a little better than the first round until he ran into a left hook that put him down again. After getting back on his feet Cruz  was put down again by a series of punches but manage to get up and beat the count. The third round Diaz came out for the kill and got it as he put down Cruz and that’s when the referee decided he’d seen enough.

Diaz looked sharped and explosive and we shall see what’s next for the 23-year-old from Puerto Rico. In the post fight interview he said he will be the next star to come out of Puerto Rico.
