Dillian Whyte Could Face Luis Ortiz in WBC Eliminator

WBC Orders Title Eliminator

The WBC orders Whyte vs Ortiz

The winner will become the mandatory to WBC Heavyweight Champion Deontay Wilder.

Currently the champion is in negotiations for an undisputed title bout with Anthony Joshua but could make a voluntary defense against Dominic Breazeale if a deal can’t be reached.

Whyte is coming off a highlight reel KO victory over former WBA Champion Lucas Browne in the seventh round.

Ortiz suffered his first career defeat at the hands of Wilder in his first title fight opportunity. In that fight, the champion was in huge trouble in the seventh round and on the verge of being stopped before he was able to muster the will and determination to come back to achieve a 10th round KO victory.

A purse bid has been set for May 25th in Mexico City. If no deal is reach before then the purse split will be 50-50.
