Keith “One Time” Thurman has decided to vacate his WBC Welterweight Title!
Thurman has not been in the ring since defeating Danny Garcia back in March of 2017.
It was a feel good moment that was short lived as he suffered a elbow injury in that bout. Thurman was slated to comeback in May of this year but was hurt once again. His return is unknown at the moment.
The WBC is expected to order Danny Garcia vs Shawn Porter for the vacant title as both are ranked #1 and #2 respectively. Looks like the welterweight division will be heating up really soon.
Thurman still holds the WBA title while a decision from the WBC is expected to come down at any moment now.
