Daniel Dubois Still Wants a Bout with Dillian Whyte!
At the present moment, heavyweight contender “Dynamite” Daniel Dubois (18-1, 17 KO’s) is looking for another fight this year. If given his choice, he’d love to duel with the heavy-handed Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte (28-3, 19 KO’s). Earlier this year, the two appeared to be on a collision course. Yet, for behind the scenes reasons, that match fell apart. Clearly though, as Dynamite explained to SecondsOut, this is still a prizefight that he is very interested in.
“I don’t know what happened with that. Frank [Warren] told me they were working on it and then the next minute I know the opponent changed. In this game, you don’t know what to expect.
One hundred percent, sure I want Dillian Whyte next! I’m at that level now, I need these tough fights, these testing fights for these people that doubt me.”
WHAT THINGS MAY COME
While Dubois versus Whyte should make for a grueling and entertaining bout, it would be a dangerous one for The Body Snatcher. For one, Dynamite is a very capable fighter. Furthermore, Whyte is already coming off a knockout loss to Tyson Fury. In fact, Whyte has lost two of his last three matches by KO. Although, to his credit, he did avenge the first of those two defeats by knockout himself. He accomplished this by stopping Alexander Povetkin in the fifth round of their immediate rematch.
Even though Dubois is actively craving a showdown with Whyte, he is being told by his Queensberry Promotion handler Frank Warren that more than likely it will be Lucas Browne up next. Assuming that Dubois versus Browne is contracted, there is little doubt that Dynamite will be the overwhelming favorite to beat Browne. So, with these various names floating around, we will just have to see how it all resolves itself behind the scenes. Luckily, regardless of what happens, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news!
