Eggington vs Cook – Cancelled!

Eggington and Cook

Brandon Cook is a victim of another cancelled fight on July 28!

Another fight has been cancelled.3kingsboxing previously reported Sam Eggington (23-4, 15 KOs) would face Brandon Cook (20-1, 13 KOs). This was a replacement fight for Kell Brook to be featured on the undercard of Dillian Whyte vs Joseph Parker.

Now, this fight has also been cancelled due to an injury.

Eggington, who took the fight on short notice, has suffered an injury while sparring.

As the EBU European/IBO Continental super welterweight champion, he hoped this bout would lead into a title fight opportunity.

Cook who has now seen two opponents pull out of fights. He’s got to be very frustrated.

He has been preparing for a long time and now it looks like he won’t have an opponent at all.

This is a bad break for both men and the fans. One can imagine the frustration for Sky Sports.

They were eventually able to add another Heavyweight showdown bout between fellow British fighters Nick Webb (12-0, 10 KOs) and David Allen (13-4-2 10 KOs). This will be a British title eliminator bout, so some element of intrigue has been added.

So close to an event, it’s unusual to see this many changes to an undercard fight. Hopefully this will be the last needed change
