Eggington vs Cook – July 28

Eggington and Cook

Eggington vs Cook grabs the undercard spot of a heavyweight headliner! fight

As previously reported by 3kingsboxing, Kell Brook and Joe Joyce both had fights pulled from the undercard of Whyte vs Parker.

A good replacement fight has been added as Sam Eggington (23-4, 15KO) will face Brandon Cook (20-1, 13KO).

As fans may recall, Cook was actually scheduled to face Kell Brook on the undercard. However, due to conditioning issues, Brook had to pull out.

Eggington, a 24 year-old British fighter, is taking this fight on short notice.

The former EBU European Welterweight champion and Current IBO Continental Super Welterweight champion is currently ranked #14 by the WBC.

Moving up in weight has been beneficial to his performance with consecutive knockout victories after losing in late 2017. Cook is ranked high within three governing bodies. Consequently, a victory here would do wonders for Eggington’s career.

Cook, a 32 year-old Canadian fighter, is a former NABA Super Welterweight title holder. He is coming off two consecutive knockout performances since his first lost in late 2017.

Being ranked inside the top 15 of three sanctioning bodies isn’t something he wants to give up just yet. It’s also worth noting he currently holds the IBA Intercontinental title. A victory here could lead to a title opportunity.

Sky Sports has put serious effort into giving the fans their money’s worth for this PPV event.

July 18 is the date. The O2 Arena in London is the place.
