Emanuel Navarrete Decimates Oscar Valdez in Six Rounds!
At the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, Emanuel Navarrete (39-2-1, 32 KOs) left no doubts as he scored a sixth-round knockout in a rematch with Oscar Valdez (32-3, 24 KOs) to retain the WBO junior lightweight title.
With less than thirty seconds left in the opening round, the champion put Valdez down with a right hand to the temple. From there, Navarrete continued to pour on the punishment.
He scored a second knockdown in round four from a series of punches to the head and body. Navarette was landing with every shot in the book and doing whatever he wanted. At the closing minute of round six, Navarrete put Valdez down and out with a beautiful left hook to the liver.
Next up for Navarrete could be a unification with WBC 130-pound champion O’Shaquie Foster. For Valdez, now may be the time for him to contemplate calling it a career.
