Jaron Ennis Wants A Title Fight with the Stanionis v Ortiz Winner

Newly crowned IBF interim welterweight titlist Jaron “Boots” Ennis (30-0, 27KO) is looking at the winner between WBA Regular champion Eimantas Stanionis (14-0, 9KO) versus Vergil Ortiz Jr. (19-0, 19KO) as his next opponent.

Boots has made it clear on several occasions that he would rather fight unified champion Errol Spence Jr. But, the welterweight division is stagnant while waiting to see if Spence and WBO champion Terence “Bud” Crawford eventually fight.

Boots understands a Spence fight won’t happen anytime soon. Not content to sit idly by, he wants the winner between Stanionis versus Ortiz Jr.

ENNIS CALLS FOR A FIGHT WITH STANIONIS VS ORTIZ WINNER

During an interview on The Last Stand, Ennis was candid about wanting to fight the winner next.

“If I can’t get Bud or Spence, I want the winner of Stanionis and Ortiz. Like I said before, I just want to fight the top guys . . . give me the guys that got belts or a name.”

Keep in mind, this has been brought up before. In the past, the WBA champion took to social media with a cryptic message for the IBF interim titlist.

Ortiz Jr had no problem in commenting on believing in himself to come out victorious against Ennis. Lastly, Ennis has expressed wanting to fight either fighter, so it’s not surprising that he is pushing hard for the fight now.

Stanionis was supposed to battle Ortiz on March 18, but he needed surgery which postponed things until April. The boxing community has shown serious interest in this fighters’ triangle as these young guys are looking to make a name for themselves.
