Seniesa Estrada Takes a Shot At Rival Marlen Esparza While Exiting Golden Boy
Now that two-divisional champion Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada (22-0, 9KO) has departed the building of Golden Boy Promotions, the rivalry with unified flyweight champion Marlen Esparza (12-1, 1KO) continues.
These two fighters have been bitter rivals under the same brand for a long time. Furthermore, their verbal attacks have escalated since their first encounter in 2019. They have continued trading shots at each other, with Super Bad claiming the unified champion is jealous that she is not commentating on the DAZN platform.
Esparza has expressed that what bothers her the most about Estrada is that she acts too “bratty”. Nonetheless, fans have been hoping and waiting for a rematch to happen. That fight may not happen now with news of Estrada joining forces with rival promotional juggernaut Top Rank.
The main reason for her departure was a financial disagreement, preventing a deal. Team Estrada only wanted what they believed they deserved as one of the top women’s fighters in the sport. This transition has already sent shockwaves all over social media, as fighters from the Top Rank stable, including unified junior lightweight champion Mikaela Mayer, have welcomed her with open arms.
ESTRADA TAKES ANOTHER JAB AT ESPARZA
Estrada’s departure also caused another problem for Golden Boy as she was to fight a rematch against Anabel Ortiz on August 6. The fight was canceled and replaced with Esparza defending her titles against Eva Guzman on the undercard of Vergil Ortiz Jr bout with Michael McKinson in Texas.
The unified champion took to social media letting all the hometown fans know about her upcoming title defense.
Not one to waste an opportunity, Estrada also took to social media to take a parting shot at Esparza.
