The Fans have spoken on Claressa Shields vs Cecilia Braekhus!
Claressa Shields became only the second undisputed women’s champion in boxing history with a dominant performance against Christina Hammer April 13. Defeating the long-reigning middleweight champion has granted Shields an accomplishment unparalleled in woamen’s boxing given her short career.
The always confident and self proclaimed G.W.O.A.T (Greatest Woman Of All-Time) wasted very little time expressing who she wanted next. She immediately name-dropped undisputed welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus. She also went as far to say the fight could happen at super welterweight.
Braekhus, being aware of this, retweeted a poll asking fans who should she fight next. By overwhelming majority, Shields is the people’s choice! However, this doesn’t mean a fight will happen as the politics will need to be sorted out first as usual.
Still, given the competitive nature of both these tremendous champions, a fight between them isn’t beyond the realm of possibility. If made, this will be a fight that undoubtedly will draw the attention of the entire boxing community!
