Farmer Retains IBF Title; Calls out Gervonta Davis Again!

Farmer vs Tennyson

Tevin Farmer Stops James Tennyson in Five to Retain IBF Super Featherweight Title

Tevin Farmer’s first defense of the IBF Super Featherweight title against James Tennyson tonight was as impressive as it gets. He dominated throughout en route to a 5th round KO while showcasing some beautiful boxing against his inferior opposition. Tennyson was the clear underdog coming in and it was apparent from jump as the defending champion took charge from second one.

The champion set the tone displaying his speed and skill against Tennyson who while fighting hard was clearly not on the level. He was too fast and slick for the challenger during the first three rounds. At times, he looked dazzling in there. What was surprising was the body work Farmer showed during the fourth round. He went to town on Tennyson’s midsection, scoring a knockdown during the round. The body attack continued during fifth round and the challenger was hurt again; falling victim to another knockdown and ultimately a stoppage.

After the fight, Farmer called out WBA Super Featherweight champion Gervonta Davis. Farmer and Davis have been beefing for years. Following Farmer’s impressive performance tonight against Tennyson tonight, 2019 is the perfect time for a Farmer-Davis showdown.
