German authorities have apprehended former middleweight champion Felix Sturm!

German authorities have charged and arrested former two-division champion Felix Sturm for tax evasion. According to reports, police apprehended the fighter while he was attending a fitness fair.

Lately, the 40 year-old has been living in Bosnia, making it difficult for the authorities speak to him. He is famous for being an unfortunate victim of the business of boxing, wherein a highly controversial decision loss to Oscar De La Hoya saw him lose the WBO title in 2004.

At the time, the boxing community had been looking forward to a showdown between De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins. The winner would become the new undisputed middleweight champion.

Sturm would continue to win titles, capturing the WBA in both middleweight and super middleweight, along with the IBF at middleweight.

However, this is not his first time hitting the news in a negative light. In 2016 after capturing the WBA super middleweight title from Feder Chudinov, it was later revealed he failed PED test.

Sturm would retire to avoid further charges and hasn’t been heard from until this news surfaced. It’s unclear how this situation will play out, but 3kingsboxing will continue to follow this story for further information.
