Raymond Ford Seeking Eduardo Nunez Title Fight
Following ten very one-sided rounds, super featherweight boxer Raymond “Savage” Ford (17-1-1, 8 KO’s) easily beat Thomas “Gunna Man” Mattice (22-5-1, 17 KO’s). After collecting all ten rounds on all three judges’ cards, Ford promptly called out #1 (WBO) ranked Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez (27-1, 27 KO’s).
“I been saying that, I been telling Eddie [Hearn] this. I been telling my team this. He [Nunez] knows I want this fight. It’s up to him if he wants to fight me; so that’s the real question. So, hopefully he goes over there and do his thing and bring that belt back so we can get it on!”
Heading into his duel with Mattice, Ford held the standings of #4 (WBA), #5 (IBF), #5 (WBA), and #8 (WBO). Armed with this along with leveraging his growing star power, Savage has made his desire to dance with Nunez known. First however, Sugar must travel to Japan to face #3 (WBO) ranked fighter Masanori Rikiishi (16-1, 11 KO’s) for the vacant IBF title. In an ideal world for him, Ford will fight for the belt in Nunez’s first title defense. Provided that he does, it would stand as the ever-evolving Raymond Ford’s first title shot.
