Franchon Crews-Dezurn calls out Elin Cederroos for undisputed

Unified super middleweight champion Franchon Crews-Dezurn (7-1, 2ko) wants to fight for undisputed and calls out divisional-rival unified champion Elin Cederroos (8-0, 4ko).

The 33-year-old Virginia native was in Flint, Michigan supporting the undisputed bout between unified junior middleweight champion Claressa Shields and IBF champion Marie-Eve Dicaire on February 5, 2021. During an intermission interview, Crews-Dezurn was asked what is next. Feeling inspired by the event, she immediately called for undisputed. Furthermore, the unified champion took to social media as well, calling for all the belts.

Ironically, Crews-Dezurn’s only professional defeat came at the hands of the woman she is out supporting in Shields. Bouncing back from that debut loss, she would go on to win the vacant WBC and WBO titles against Maricela Cornejo once in 2018 and again in 2019.

Things got a little bumpy for the unified champion when she suffered another defeat to former WBC heavyweight female champion Alejandra Jimenez in January 2020. However, after Jimenez tested positive for a banned substance, Crews-Dezurn was easily reinstated by both sanctioning bodies as the champion.

The unified champion, in her last outing, fought above the super middleweight limit against Ashleigh Curry on January 2021. However, she would be on point making weight for such a monumental occasion.

WILL THE FIGHT HAPPEN

Even though Crews-Dezurn is ready to rumble, it takes two-to-tango. So far, there has not been any news regarding unified champion Cederroos. The last time the undefeated Swedish fighter was in the ring was in a successful unification bout with WBA champion Alicia Napolean-Espinosa back in January 2020.

It will be interesting to see what the response will be from team Cederroos.
