Tyson Fury Promises to Give Oleksandr Usyk a Beating

Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) is days away from his December 21 rematch with the reigning unified champion Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in Saudi Arabia. Will victory be Fury’s this time around? The Gypsy King says yes, and vows it will come in punishing fashion.

In their first battle in May 2024, Fury got off to an excellent start and was ahead of the cards at the halfway mark. To his chagrin, Usyk rallied and knocked Fury down in round nine. The strong finish from the unified champion proved the difference, as the fight went to Usyk by a split decision.

HUNGRIER THAN EVER

Fury insists he did enough to win that fight. He’s used that setback to fuel. During an exclusive interview with UK media outlet TNT Sports Boxing, the former WBC heavyweight champion said he’s in what he calls “Beast Mode” and has been in seclusion at training camp for the last three months. Locked in and focused, Fury hasn’t talked to his wife or kids during this time.

Some in the boxing community wonder if the 36-year-old has lost a step. Fury told TNT Sports Boxing that he still lives to train, feels better than ever, and believes the level of commitment and dedication will bear out on December 21. When asked for his prediction about the upcoming rematch, Fury promised to deliver plenty of pain.

“My mission is to smash this fucker’s face right in on Saturday night. There’s no chance that he can beat me – none. I ain’t got a cut this time that I’m nursing. I can do everything now. I’ve never been as confident as smacking a fucker’s face.”

“I’m going to destroy this fucker on Saturday night. Watch me on Saturday night go to work on him. You watch it.”

Usyk is a two-time undisputed champion and ranked number one in 3kingsboxing.com’s Top Ten fighter rankings. After hurting Fury in their initial battle, one would think that the unified champion is riding a tremendous wave of confidence.

However, a motivated fighter is a dangerous fighter. With unique skill and athleticism for a man of his size, there’s been no heavyweight like Fury. He has the technical prowess, ring IQ, and physicality to compete on even terms with Usyk. His renewed vigor and thirst for revenge could be the key to carry him over the top.
