Tyson Fury trolls Deontay Wilder
The lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury sent a message to the WBC Champion Deontay “Bronzebomber” Wilder.
Recently, we learned the lineal champion would be facing Swedish fighter Otto Wallin. Despite Wallin’s 20-0, 13 KO record, he is unknown to many inside the boxing community.
This caused a chain reaction by many, including the WBC champion.
“He keeps pulling out all these night shift graveyard workers […] Talking about he’s the best with an invisible belt.” ~ Deontay Wilder, WBC heavyweight champion
In true Tyson Fury fashion, the British heavyweight did not let Wilder’s words escape a response.
The charismatic UK fighter knows how to get underneath the skin of the hard-punching Alabamian. The antics from the first promotional fight annoyed the WBC champion. Wilder himself openly admitted in an interview with 78 Sports TV that Fury had made him so frustrated, he was focused on knocking him out.
Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum claimed they wanted to build the lineal champion’s American profile. This was to help build more interest in the rematch with the Wilder. However, the last two opponents aren’t popular enough to move the needle, even for a stay-busy fight. Being fair, it’s worth noting the Swedish boxer ranks #4 and #11 with two of the major governing sanction bodies.
One thing is for certain. If both men win their respective bouts, it’s going to be fun watching the promotional build up to their clash.
