Gamboa looking to return November 10

Former Olympic Gold Medalist and unified/two-division champion Yuriorkis Gamboa (28-2, 17 KOs) may return against Miguel Beltran Jr. (32-6, 21 KOs).

Gamboa’s career is full of highs and lows, along with long periods of inactivity. Also, his history of promoter issues is well documented. The 36 year old Cuban fighter is currently ranks at #10 with the WBA. He will be looking to use this fight to help boost his career; a dire need at this phase of his life. His release from Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year left many pundits thinking his career was over.

Beltran Jr. is a Mexican fighter who has mostly fought in his home country. His two appearances fighting in the US were step-up fights, both resulting in losses. He will be coming off a long layoff, as his last fight was July 28, 2017 in defeat against Carlos Ramos.

Gamboa, for the first time in his career, could be fighting in his adopted home of Miami, Florida. This will no doubt give him a serious home crowd advantage as Miami has the highest population of Cubans in the US.

Although no official announcement has been made, this contest’s target date for November 10th. 3kingsboxing will continue to follow this story for further updates.
