Yuriorkis Gamboa easily stops Rocky Martinez in two!
In a battle of two veteran former champions, Yuriorkis Gamboa and Rocky Martinez were looking to keep their hopes of a title opportunity alive.
Gamboa came out in round one on the front foot, immediately backing up Martinez. His hand speed was quickly on display as he consistently beat his opponent to the punch.
Then came round two! Gamboa would score his first knockdown early in the round after a beautiful left hook.
A few moments later, he would close the show as he landed a four-punch combination that put Martinez down for good. This would be his first knockout victory in five years!
In his post fight interview, he divulged his plans are to get WBA super champion Gervonta Davis in the ring later this year.
At the age of 37, he proved he still has some fight left in him. Would what he showed tonight be enough to give Davis problems? We may just get our answer before the year is out!
