Boxing v MMA All Over Again?

It appears that another inter-combat matchup could be brewing after rising lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia and UFC superstar Henry Cejudo got into it after Garcia posed a simple question on Twitter.

Cejudo would see the tweet and return fire, calling the boxer an Oscar De La Hoya wannabe and concluding he would make him “bend the knee” in his own sport.

Obviously, this fight isn’t going to happen. For one, it makes no sense at this point. Garcia, while talented and constantly improving fight in and fight out, has done absolutely nothing in boxing to even be remotely thinking about having a crossover fight. Conversely, Cejudo is a great MMA fighter, having earned an Olympic Gold Medal in the 2008 games. He’s also a two-division champion in the UFC, having won the flyweight title and bantamweight title.

Lastly, the physical size advantages all favor Garcia, who stands at 5’10 compared to Cejudo’s 5’4. Also, Garcia is much younger and naturally bigger. Lastly ,he is just a way better boxer, which would be the only way this fight is made. So while it’s all fun and good entertainment, this possibility just doesn’t make one bit of sense.

Although, we’ve seen crazier things happen before! So while we can’t completely dismiss this, it’s highly unlikely.
