Rolly’s Win Over Ryan Garcia Should Lose No Luster Over Injury

“King” Ryan Garcia’s recent injury report is no excuse for his performance against Rolando “Rolly” Romero on May 3. It will be interesting to see if his power suffers after undergoing surgery on both hands.

It’s reported that King hurt his right hand in training camp and damaged his left hand during the fight with Rolly. Fighters often enter the ring not being one hundred percent, and when things go wrong, it’s the hazard of the job.

It’s the risk they take when seeking glory for a higher financial payday down the line. Garcia took to social media, not looking to use the injury as an excuse.

The media only reports what someone tells them. Therefore, it’s not out of the realm of possibility this information was purposely leaked. Boxing fans jumped on Garcia for trying to blame trainer Derrick James for the loss. It will be interesting to see what the boxing public’s response will be after hearing this news.
