Hamzah Sheeraz Stops Tyler Denny in the Second Round
Rising middleweight boxer Hamzah Sheeraz (21-0, 17 KO) made short work of Tyler Denny (19-3-3, 1 KO’s) in beating him by second round TKO.
Right from the beginning, the towering Sheeraz took control. He dropped Denny inside the first twenty seconds of the first with a thumping left hook. To his credit, Denny found his feet and fought for the remainder of the period without any more serious missteps.
Here and there, Denny even stood his ground and took the fight to his opponent. Regrettably for Team Denny, not much of that offense scored true. Yet, more than anything else, the height and reach advantage that Sheeraz benefited from was more than Denny could surmount.
Following suit with the first round, Sheeraz managed to corral Denny along the ropes where he began wobbling his skull with a series of sturdy hooks that sank him down to his knees. Even though Denny narrowly beat the count, referee Mark Bates put an end to the contest in the second period, awarding the TKO victory to Hamzah Sheeraz.
With the win Sheeraz, picked up the WBC silver middleweight title.
